1. Any existential dilemmas can be submitted to the Mechanism of the Universe by looking up at the night sky and feeling beautiful in your fragility and insignificance.

I have the deepest affection for intellectual conversations. The ability to just sit and talk. About love, about life, about anything, about everything. To sit under the moon with all the time in the world, the full-speed train that is our lives slowing to a crawl. Bound by no obligations, barred by no human limitations. To speak without regret or fear of consequence. To talk for hours and about what’s really important in life.

  9. Thesis survey launch!

Please take my thesis survey! It takes about 20 minutes and involves listening to recordings.

Follow this link to go to the survey: http://lst.checkboxonline.com/test.aspx

It’s okay to take it if you know about my thesis project, or even if you participated in the recording process.

    Thank you!

  10. taking advice

I’ve realized that when someone gives me advice, I generally explain that I haven’t been doing that because blahblahblah.

I think I do this because I feel that my friend’s advice is pointing out some way in which I have been wrong, and I need to defend my rightness. I think it’s also a manifestation of being obstinate. (Why should I change myself just because you suggested it?)

Really, though, I’d much rather say, “Thank you, I’ll try it.”
